Buenas Dias!!
This
was a great week! In 3 days we set 3 baptismal dates!! Monday with J
P (a Contact), Tuesday with B (an old investigator), and
Wednesday with S (A 12 year old evangelic). They are all super
awesome and want to come to Christ. J P is the only one who came
to church (B was working and S went to the evangelic church).
J P is a contact that for 20 years and wants to follow the
correct path of Christ. He is awesome and is reading and praying. He has
a baptismal date March 15. I know that we can help him, but it
will be difficult to achieve that day because this week he is going to
Santiago, so we will see.
This
week something kinda frustrating happened. I am obviously a gringo
which to lots of people in Chile means "I'M EASY TO ROB, ROB ME!" which
is kind of frustrating. We were taking a bus to a district meeting which
we have every week. When I asked the bus driver how much it would cost
(always 700 pesos) he told me it would cost 1020 pesos. I knew he was
lying and trying to take advantage of my gringoness but luckily I only
brought 800 pesos. I told him I didn't have enough and only had 800 so he
took my 800 and gave me back 100 pesos because he knew that I knew the
price. It was frustrating that he tried to rob me just because I am
gringo.
This
week at church JP came and it was super awesome. He stayed all
three hours and enjoyed the classes. But in the second hour of class the
teacher wasn't there. All 8 Students were waiting and sitting patiently
but I knew that the teacher was going to be late because she had a
meeting for seminary so I decided to take control. I got up in front of
our investigator and the other students and I taught the Principles of
the Gospel class, in Spanish. It was awesome and I felt like I did a
pretty good job. I am just glad that I am comfortable enough as a
missionary and with the language to be able to teach something out of
the blue :)
This
week didn't have many things happen but I need prayers. Prayers for the
investigators, prayers for me, and prayers for my companion. We need to
encounter more people and have more lessons, so prayers would help a lot.
All in all it was a pretty good week but hopefully this next one will be better :)
I love you all! Stay Golden!
Love,
Elder Nielson
